Human feelings are never simple.
I believe most situations in life bring about very complex feelings
that are made up of pleasure or displeasure mixed or compounded
with sensations from the body’s reactions.
I draw such complex human feelings rather than drawing what the individual looks like exactly.

For my paintings, I do not look at an individual directly,
but rather I look at a photo of the individual.
This is because a photo lets me paint an individual intuitively and sensitively without outside influences.
My paintings are only expressions of my own senses regarding complex feelings
that my subjects express at the moment of just having been photographed.
Therefore, I do not need any information outside of that individual.
My subjects may be upstanding individuals or even criminals,
but none of that matters. My paintings are only created by the facial expressions that I can catch from a photo.

To express such complex feelings, I use various colours that I feel at the particular moment of artistic creation.
The colours I choose are inspired by the expression of an individual,
and convey the emotions I feel about them.
The colours can never be intentionally or previously determined.
It changes flexibly depending on what I feel.
Using one colour leads me to decide which colour I will use next.
Being honest to myself about inspired feelings,
my art expresses an individual’s complex feelings from my point of view.
